Cedar Point features a new floorless coaster this summer.

With just weeks left of school, vacation is just around the corner.

For high school students, a more popular type of vacation would be visiting theme parks and riding “the best roller coasters.”

For Michiganders, Cedar Point and Michigan’s Adventure are the most popular amusement parks. But what about the rest of the states?

Here is what I think are some of the best amusements parks in America.

Disney World

Walt Disney World is the amusement park kids, teens, and adults all around the world fantasize about.

Disney World, in Orlando, Fla., would have to be the top amusement park in America.

This amusement park is the most visited resort in the world, with 25 million people visiting annually.

In this one amusement park there are 27 themed resort hotels, nine non-Disney hotels, four theme parks, two water parks, four golf courses, one nine-hole walking golf course, two themed miniature golf courses, one camping resort, and other entertainment venues.

The park also has many themed sections like the Magic Kingdom or the Animal Kingdom.

Cedar Point

The rougarou is a wolf-like creature mentioned in French folklore, but now it can be known as a new roller coaster at Cedar Point.

The Rougarou is replacing the Mantis, a coaster where riders stood throughout the whole thing. This new coaster will be 145 feet tall and drops 137 feet above water, running at 60 mph.

The Rougarou is Cedar Point’s first floorless coaster.

Filled with 17 thrilling roller coasters, Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio, and on its own peninsula.

Even though the Rougarou will be replacing the Mantis, Cedar Point is my go-to amusement park over the summer.

Six Flags

There are four types of the Six Flags amusement parks in America: one in Georgia, the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Los Angeles.

The name “Six Flags” refers to the six countries or nations whose flags flew over Texas during the state’s history: the United States, the Confederate States, Mexico, Spain, France, and the Republic of Texas.

Kingda Ka, a roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, reaches a height of 456 feet and a speed of 128 mph in 3.5 seconds.

I have never been to Six Flags, but it surely has been recommended to me more than once.

Kings Island

Kings Island is located in Mason, Ohio, and contains many roller coasters that are world-known.

One coaster, named The Beast, has been named the best wooden roller coaster in the world, and has been the longest wooden coaster for over 20 years.

The Drop Zone is the tallest Gyro Drop in the world, which is 315 feet tall, and it drops down 264 feet.

An old coaster that does not exist anymore is the Son of Beast coaster. This coaster was  the fastest, highest, and only looping wooden roller coaster on Earth.

Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is located in Tampa, Fla. and Williamsburg, Va.

This amusement park is part of Sea World Parks & Entertainment.

Busch Gardens not only has fun and exciting coasters, but it also has an animal theme, resulting in a zoo.

Busch Gardens has one of the largest zoos in North America, with more than 12,000 animals, 250 different species, and more than 30 threatened and endangered species in the park’s animal habitats.

Having been to Busch Gardens before, I would have to say that the monkeys were my favorite part of the zoo. I would say this park is perfect for both children and teenagers.

Universal Studios

Located in Orlando, Fla., Universal Studios is known worldwide.

Some may know Universal Studios by The Wizarding World of Harry Potter park located inside of the park.

Universal Studios is based off of all the movies that are produced by Universal Studios, hence the Harry Potter attraction.

The park even has a 3D roller coaster themed for the movie Transformers and a 4D adventure for the movie Shrek.

I am someone who loves roller coasters and spending a day walking around and enjoying myself at amusement parks.

If you are looking to go somewhere for the summer, I recommend any of the aforementioned amusement parks.
