The Barden Bellas have returned in Pitch Perfect 2, the follow-up to 2012’s smash hit. This highly anticipated sequel will premiere on May 15 in box offices across America. Tickets are for sale now for all those “acca-believers” that want to ensure the first showing, as the fan base for the Barden Bellas is huge.
The original cast members Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Skylar Astin, Ben Platt and Adam Devine will be in the sequel. The Barden Bellas will also have a new member, Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld. It is no doubt that the tight bond of the girls was what made this film so popular. From the hilarious Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) to my personal favorite Beca (Anna Kendrick) the cast is top of the line.
Executive producer and director Elizabeth Banks is keeping quiet about the plot, but she hinted that the new film will revolve around the Barden Bellas’ senior year. After being humiliated in front of the President of the United States of America, the Bella’s are taken out of the “Aca-Circuit.” In order to regain their status the Bella’s embark on what seems to be an impossible task: winning an International competition no American team has ever won. In order to accomplish this task, they need to strengthen the bonds of friendship and sisterhood, and blow away the competition. The film is expected to have funny, dramatic, and bittersweet moments through out. Sometimes I think about not watching this movie but then I think “mmm, better not.” -
