The low rate of high school graduation for U.S. students may make it seem that success is not in the cards for many. But that “Destiny” might be changing!
Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Taco Bell Foundation for Teens recently went to Capitol Hill in Washington, D. C., to announce an exciting and historic partnership. BGCA President Jim Clark was joined by a host of dignitaries, including U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner, BGCA Chairman of the Board Ron Gidwitz and 2013-14 National Youth of the Year Kiana Knolland, as Taco Bell Foundation for Teens pledged a $30 million commitment over the next five years for the Graduate for Más initiative.
Also on hand was Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Kelly Rowland, formerly of the R&B supergroup Destiny’s Child. Rowland talked with myclubmylife.com Teen Reporter Ryan W. about why she lent her support to help Club members graduate.
