It’s easy to take your health for granted, especially when you’re young and seem invincible. But this story reminds us that health trouble can strike anyone…it’s how you act in the face of adversity that defines you.
Amazing teen, 16-year-old Arshawna Warren found out she had breast cancer before she even had her driver’s license. Now 18 and cancer free she’s devoted her life to early detection awareness.
What are the lessons she wants you to take from her experience?
1. Be aware of your body and health!
Arshawna found her cancer during a self-exam that probably saved her life. Know your body and if something is up tell your parents and your doctor!
2. It’s never too early to be informed
Arshawna has started a workshop, Be Pretty in Pink, for young teens to help them learn about cancer and early detection techniques (which the American Cancer Society now uses).

MCML gives a huge shout-out to Arshawna, a Girl Scout and an artist, who overcame cancer with poise and grace and turned it into an opportunity to help others.
